„Reconnecting the economic and the social realm” @ VANDA 2020

On 29 September 2020 Ana Rogojanu and Georg Wolfmayr presented the paper “Reconnecting the economic and the social realm: perspectives on competition and housing” at the Vienna Anthropology Days 2020 in the session “New economic anthropologies: Past, present and future(s) of a sub-discipline”. In this paper, we presented first insights into our empirical study of the Viennese housing market and connected these to the previous work on the relation between the “economic realm” and the “social realm” in different strands of theorizing competition (see contribution @ SASE 2020). After a number of conferences with a predominantly economic focus, we enjoyed discussing our work with scholars from the field of economic anthropology!

An overview of the other papers in the session and an abstract of the paper can be found here.
