“Economic Imaginary of EU Commission” and “Polanyi & Schumpeter” presented @ Momentum 2020

3 SPACE researchers presented their recent work on 16th and 17th of October 2020 at the Momentum Congress 2020, taking place online this year under the heading “Republic”. Laura Porak presented her paper “Der ‘größte Trumpf’ Europas. Eine Analyse des ‘economic imaginary’ der Europäischen Kommission”, a discursive analysis of EU Commission Policies.

After successfully presenting their working paper at the EAEPE conference 2020 online Johanna Rath and Theresa Hager together with Ines Heck presented their work on “Competition in Transformational Processes: Polanyi & Schumpeter”. The paper tries to link conceptions of Polanyi and Schumpeter regarding social norms, competition and freedom/regulation. Since a pre-recorded video was requested, the main findings of the paper were synthesized in a short-film representing an interview with the ficticious characters of Karla Polanyia and Josefa Schumpetra:

The discussion and framework of the congress were rather productive and thus helped to concretize our arguments improving our work.
