The 8th episode of SPACE Podcast entitled “MAN Steyr und der internationale Wettbewerb” is now online
The SPACE Project (in cooperation with Lisa Puchner) is producing a podcast series entitled “Wettbewerb infrage” to support the dissemination of research results from the project and discuss the concept of competition more broadly. The podcast series combines results, negotiated positions and discussions from the research project with content and voices from everyday life.
The 8th episode “MAN Steyr und der internationale Wettbewerb” deals with the case of the MAN production side in Steyr (Upper Austria) and its challenges on a global market in the context of international competition. 2021, the MAN Steyr truck production plant in Upper Austria was sold. The podcast revolves around the question of how this local event is embedded in the international economic context and what one learns about international location competition in the process. Lisa Puchner talks to Jakob Kapeller, Head of the Institute for the Comprehensive Analysis of the Economy at the Johannes Kepler University Linz and Professor of Socioeconomics at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Together with Claudius Gräbner-Radkowitsch, project leader at SPACE, he discussed globalisation processes and European location competition in a paper based on the case of MAN Steyr.
The episode was broadcasted on Radio Orange on Tuesday, 26th of July 2022, at 2pm and is now accessible online. In addition, the podcast is now also available on Spotify. The next broadcast is scheduled for 27th of September.
